The way ahead

Posted on July 9, 2012 by watu in News, School Infrastructure, Students, Students' welfare

So far the improvements, described in the posts concerning assistance to specific poorest schools, have been implemented by the two projects of the Polish NGO Partners Poland, jointly with Watu kwa Watu, with the funding of the Polish International Assistance Program (PolAid), and by two grants from the Social Concerns Committee of the Catholic International Community in Nairobi. The most needs identified by us in the schools we are already supporting are however far beyond the funds of the projects. We need more latrines, more water harvesting and hand-washing facilities, more gutters and rain-water drains, more roofs, walls and flors fixed, more school chairs or benches, so that children do not need to sit on the floor etc. There is also an almost unlimited mass of schools, which have very urgent needs and are not yet being assisted by anybody. You can contribute for the upgrading of the schools, and you will receive a specific report how your donation has been utilized.

If you cannot support a student, or a school improvements for a sustained period, we are also very grateful for one-off donations to the Trust. We can assure you that it will go directly, as per your specified designation, into paying school fees and other education costs for children in need, or for upgrading of the poorest schools.

Please visit the “How You Can Help” section of this website for more information on how you can make a big difference.
