2011 and 2012 Assistance with educational costs of individuals

Posted on February 4, 2013 by tsudra in News, Students, Students' welfare

During 2011 and 2012 assistance was provided to 16 children and young adults, orphans and hlaf-orphans. 9 of the were boys and 7 girls. In majority of cases the assistance has started earlier, as a private effort of the Trustees.  Funding came from donors in Poland, Denmark, Switzerland and Germany, as well as from Trustees of Watu Kwa Watu.

In majority of cases funding is being provided directly by sponsors to the beneficiaries, or as direct payments to their schools, with facilitation, control and reporting by Watu Kwa Watu.

To protect the assisted children from risks of possible abuse, their identity is not fully revealed to the sponsors (see page Management …) and is not available on this website. At the same time sponsors receive detailed financial reports, reports about the school progress of children, photographs, and personal letters from assisted children. All these contacts are initially via Watu Kwa Watu. Longer term sponsors, who become personally known to the Trustees, establish however after longer support direct personal contact with children and youth they assist.

Separate posts of this website present few example cases of the past and ongoing assistance. Another post, continuously updated, lists examples of particularly urgent needs of the moment.
