Starkid School and Rescue Centre adds 6 new rooms

Starkid School and Rescue Centre is adding 6 new rooms: additional  boys’ dormitory to de-congest the Rescue Centre, future computer room, future science laboratory, and 3 new classrooms. Adding the new classrooms and the science lab are necessary for the renewal of the  registration of the Starkid’s High-school component with the Ministry of Education. Initial construction is just iron sheets (mabathi) on wooden frames, further improvements to be added later. Funding for this initial stage was provided, through Watu Kwa Watu,

Front of the new wing of six rooms

by African Children Haven (ACH) of Galveston, Texas, USA, and by the group of the young professionals of the United Nations’ offices in Nairobi. Any contribution for the  further costs would be most welcome. It is needed for of improving the walls, doors, windows, furniture, installing electric lighting and electrical connections for computers and lab instruments etc.
