Starkid School in Berlin

Posted on May 22, 2018 by tsudra in Assistance to very poor families

The Deputy Chair of Watu Kwa Watu, through her teaching job in the German School, has initiated a collaboration between Starkid School and Rescue Centre in Nairobi. This collaboration has been described in the earlier news on this website over the years. German School continues to facilitate access of Starkid students to the German School science laboratory, organizes special lessons of German language for Starkid Highschool students. Some German School teachers and students are occasionally involved at Starkid. Students of both schools conduct joint performing art activities.

For this collaboration program German School Nairobi has been awarded the third prize in the global competition of German institutions, including schools, abroad for the most innovative and successful collaborative projects with the institutions of the host country.  A delegation of the German School Nairobi, along with the delegations of the two other winning schools (the first and second prizes were won by the schools in Argentina and in Spain), was invited to Berlin, Germany, for the Award Ceremony held on 15 May. Starkid’s Headteacher, and one of the most involved High school students, were a part of this delegation.
