DRAW YOUR DREAMS project at St Judah Education Centre in Mathare Slum in Nairobi

Posted on April 6, 2017 by tsudra in Assistance to very poor schools, Supplies

Watu Kwa Watu was invited in early 2017, via African Children’s Haven Foundation, to partner with the Art Fund of an American painter Dinesh Doshi to start the project DRAW YOUR DREAMS, in a few poor primary schools, both in urban slums and in rural areas in Kenya. The project introduces the elements of visual art education, while at the same time invites children to think positively about their possible future in terms of their work and living conditions. The second stage of the project, started in some schools in early 2018 asks children to draw their dreams about the future of their country and of their locality. Art Trust provides crayons and drawing books. Watu Kwa Watu delivers these supplies to its partner schools, provides initial guidance, follow up and reporting to the sponsor.
