Ken Okoth, name changed to protect privacy, is studying in the Teachers’ College with financial support of Professor Annie S… from Boston, USA. His High school costs were paid, also via Watu Kwa Watu, by retired Ms. Gunver B.., retired researcher from Fredensborg in Denmark.

A friend of Watu Kwa Watu in Berlin, Germany, has donated new tables and chairs for  St Phillips School in Mathare Slum, in Nairobi, instead of flowers for her Mother’s funeral. Each table has a small plaque in memory of the Mother.

Two science teachers from each school attended a series of training sessions in German School introducing  new experiencial and interactive methods of teaching natural sciences. Schools will also be provided with some basic equipment for simple science experiments.

Starkid School and Rescue Centre ha signed agreements of cooperation with African Children Haven (ACH) and with the German School. Starkid has received food donation for its Feeding Program from Hindu Women Association in Nairobi. Beans, maize, rice and other food donated by them are improving the meals served to children of the School and Rescue Centre. This first donation is likely to be repeated in the future.  

Starkid School and Rescue Centre is adding 6 new rooms: additional  boys’ dormitory to de-congest the Rescue Centre, future computer room, future science laboratory, and 3 new classrooms.
